It was never a card for all pensioners like labour were trying to scare people about.
It needs to remain in place to assist the vulnerable. It’s not a punishment it’s called being responsible.

I think in theory they were a good idea. We would need to know how much it saved our health and mental health systems from treating addictions and associated illnesses. Probably not much, because those involved would just ask someone else to make the purchase for them.
It saved nothing. People commuted suicide. Iit coat a fortune and made things worse.

Every coin has 2 sides, I think it a good thing, only some bad people try to take advantages from those pensioners can’t manage their money. But Labour party exaggerates the bad side of it to make a change.
