My partner and I have our own super funds and are happy with there performance is it advisable to seek a independent financial advisor or get advice separately from our superfunds?
Hi Chris. this can depend on what you want to seek advice on. Many super funds have terrific advisers that can help with contributing to super and the investment options within the fund that might be best for you. Not all funds are able to help with more complex situations so you may need to speak to an independent adviser if that is the situation you are in. You can also book a consultation with one of our Advisers.
My wife is younger than me so we are putting money into her super so I can qualify for a part pension next year in regards to the Assets test. We are well under the income test.
I am going to receive a substantial amount from an inheritance early next year which tip me over the limit of the Assets test.
My question is for the one day that inheritance money is in my account before it goes into my wife’s Super will that effect me re the Assets test ?
Hi Mark. It is possible however if the money is moved straight into your wife’s super then it is very unlikely to affect you.
