Could you explain the rules denoting “couples”
Would 2 elderly sisters living together be a couple?
Or a daughter and her elderly mother?
Hi Dagmar. Neither of those situations would be considered a couple. Each person in that situation would be treated as single for the purposes of the Age Pension.
It is well known that retiring in some (many) foreign countries would mean much more comfortable lifestyle. What is the full Age Pension for people who chose to retire overseas? Is it possible to retire overseas at all?
Hi Aleksandar. If you are already receiving the Age Pension it is possible to move overseas and still retain some of you pension. How much you receive will depend on a number of circumstances including how long you lived in Australia before moving overseas. This article from a few months ago on tips and traps for overseas travellers has some further information on this subject.
