I am an age pensioner but my wife works part time, annual income say 30,000 pa but she is 64. Is she entitled to CSHC?
Hi Paul, in order to receive the CSHC you MUST be of Age Pension age which is currently 66.5 but will be increasing to 67 as of 01/07/2023 so your wife will not be eligible for the CSHC for another 3 years.
My wife and I are on an age pension. is there any benefit in us also having CSHC?
Hi Ronald, the Pensioner Concession Card that you already have includes all the benefits of the CSHC plus more so there is no need to apply for it.
Can I get someone to talk to personally to apply for pension payments or does it all happen on line. In simple terms. Can I talk to someone’s face to face, bring in relevant documents and get the pension sorted.
Hi Jo. We don’t offer a face to face service but you can arrange for us to help you complete your application over the phone. Here is a link to the booking page for that service
Hi
Just wondering whether share investments are deemed for the CSHC and do purchase or sale of shares need to be reported within 7 days?
Cheers
Michael
Hi Michael, the only assets that have deeming applied for CSHC testing is account based pensions/income streams. No other assets (such as shares) are deemed nor do they need to be declared/reported to Centrelink.
I received my commonwealth Seniors Health card the other day.
In applying for discounts in Victoria (elec, water.vicroads) to my surprise all rejected the application because they don’t accept the card. At this point it’s not worth the paper it was printed on. Perhaps you should make this the 6th point for CSHC that all members should know.
Have linked mygovid to mygov with a rating of standard (using driver’s licence, birth cert. & medicare care – Centrelink require strong id before allowing access to gain cust. ref. nr. (CRN) to apply for CSHC. Tried to ascertain how to “upgrade” to strong category – no joy. Tried to phone & email id enquiry without success. Thought my only option was then to get appointment at a Centrelink Service Centre nearest about 3 hrs drive from my residence in western Qld – guess what – need to enter a CRN! as part of the process so no joy there either. All the above has been attempted on-line which is my preference & promoted as the best means of “doing business” but THEY don’t make it easy . Even “re-set” my id a couple of times (the definition of stupidity – doing the same thing numerous times and expecting different results). Am I frustrated – you bet!
