+There are very few benefits if you live in Victoria.
Not really worth the effort to get a few dollars off a few expensive items as many are not on PBS anyway. Many doctors now charge even if you have a card as they have a choice to bulk bill or not.
This is a lot of noise about very little… at least in Victoria.
Agree, In NSW it seems to yield little benefit. Red Energy declined the CSHC for electricity discount. Cancer specialist also declined the card. Both sighted the CSHC and declared it is not valid for discounts. Pensioners only.
I believe that anyone who has only had the super guarantee for part of their working life and worked for more than 15years befor SG was introduced should get a part or full pension without the constrictions of the assets test being so hard. Also those who have less than 1m$ in their retirement funds should be able to work tax free beyound 70 years of age if they earn less than $100,000pa- keep the skills going.
This unique group who did not get the SG need to get some compensation, they get little to nothing for saving and salary sacrificing on fairly low wages and those who do nothing get a full pension!!!!
