I’m very fortunate that at age 75 I own my 2-bedroom unit. Once I get down to the last $20k of my assets then I hope to arrange a reverse mortgage or similar for the period until I die. If my kids are lucky there might be a few dollars left after I’ve lived my remaining life to the full.
This was an opportunity to remind seniors to
– have a valid will
– have a power of attorney organised and
– have an Advance Care Directive in place to inform people what YOU want if you lose capacity.
All that reduces the anxiety of growing older.
and another opportunity missed was the 60/30/10 rule that 60% of what you take out of super in your retirement is interest earned after you retire: money makes money.
